Another Successful Art Trail...

Just to say thanks to all those who managed to call in this weekend and support me during my Open House. It was great to get such positive feedback on my new work and have the house full of art lovers (and their willing partners!) The cats also enjoyed all the attention...
One of the most popular paintings was 'Late Sun', a little sketch I did for the large painting 'Treeline' which you can just see on the mantlepiece in the photograph below.

If anybody would like to order prints or cards of my latest work please do get in touch via my website which I shall be updating as soon as my techy son comes home for Easter!

Getting the oil paints out...

Sean said that my art room smelt like a real studio this week as I got my oil paints out to work with along with the oil bars. Having fun layering and building up similar tones of different subtle colour combinations. Plus the excuse to go and buy more flowers...
Here are some colourful anemones - I love the huge fringed dark middles which really help to pull the rhythm of the composition together. This one is for the Green Door Art Trail in April...

Pip Seymour's pale blue acrylic paint....

I have been working with my new selection of Pip Seymour paints which are seductively like painting with ice cream colours. This painting will be heading up to the Spring Show at the Number Four Gallery in St Abbs, Scotland. I am aiming to get up there for the preview on the 12th April...

Annie's Vase

I have been developing my pastel sketches into oils. Annie had brought the roses along in her vase with the squiggly handle - fab!
